Author Dr. Michael Fine introduces his new book: HEALTH CARE REVOLT
How to Organize, Build a Health Care System, and Resuscitate Democracy—All at the Same Time
Wednesday, May 22, 6:30 p.m. @ Foster Public Library
Author, and health care advocate, Dr. Michael Fine will visit the Foster Public Library to sign and discuss his book and the topic of Heath Care Systems.
Health Care Revolt looks around the world for examples of health care systems that are effective and affordable, pictures such a system for the U.S., and creates a practical playbook for a political revolution in health care that will allow the nation to protect health while strengthening democracy.
Dr. Fine has been an advocate for communities, healthcare reform and the care of under-served populations worldwide for 40 years. His career as a community organizer and family physician has led him to some of the poorest places in the United States, as well as to dangerous, war-ravaged communities world-wide. His experiences across the globe have enabled him to craft numerous short stories, novels, and healthcare policy books about how we can change the world by empowering, caring for and educating one another.
Light refreshments featuring local produce from Rhode Island farmer’s markets will be available after his talk. This program is free and open to the public. The library building is wheelchair accessible. For more information call 401-397-4801, Foster Public Library, 184 Howard Hill Road, Foster, RI 02825.
