Join us the first and third Monday of June and July for this all new interactive music program! Children and their caregivers are invited to move and dance along with guitar music, and variety of songs. We will provide lots of fun instruments for the children to explore and show their creativity. After this 30 minute program, children are invited to stay for playtime. The cooking theme this month is summer barbecue. You will find inspiring cookbooks and cooking magazines at the libraries such as Cook’s Illustrated and Edible Rhody or go online to make a request. Each cook brings a small sample of their favorite dish to share. New cooks welcome!

All are welcome to join in this fun paper craft workshop. You have supplies and instruction to make three handmade cards-- it’s a creative and convivial way to spend an afternoon! There is a $5 materials fee to cover the cost of papers and other supplies. These popular classes have limited seating. RSVP is required to plan supplies. Call the libraries at 397-7930 or 397-4801.

* Dinner and a MovieDinner and a Movie

Time: 7:00 pm

This new movie and discussion group has its first meeting on Monday, July 17 at Foster Public Library to see a thought-provoking film, with conversation over a potluck dinner. Katherine and Karen will facilitate discussion. Seating is limited; Call ahead for film titles and to participate in the potluck dinner.

* Art JournalingArt Journaling

Time: 6:30 pm

Sometimes called “altered books,” art journaling is a creative re-use of an older book that might otherwise have gone into the recycling bin. With guidance from a local artist, we glue, paste, design and create extraordinary and original art journals. Beginners are encouraged to join this new art workshop. Call 397-4801 for more information and a supplies list to bring to the first class. A $ 3 materials fee will be collected at each class.

This is a class on sewing for beginners and will be a great refresher class for some. Plan on getting a review of basis hand stitches and pointers on using a sewing machine. Bring your unfinished projects, and fabric and notions to swap. Recommended for teens and adult. Pre-register to reserve a sewing machine by calling The Libraries: 397-7930 or 3974801.
