The Libraries of Foster are pleased to offer free home delivery service for patrons who may not be able to get to the physical buildings for any reason.
How does it work?
You tell us what you need! Let us know:
- how often you would like to receive books (this could be a regular schedule or an as-needed basis)
- what types of materials you are looking for (you may request specific titles, or have one of our librarians curate a list based on your preferences)
Once we have this information, we will be in touch to arrange a delivery. Deliveries are typically done between 11am and 4pm. Please note that deliveries may be subject to staff availability and weather conditions.
When the materials are ready to be returned, a pick-up will be arranged. Items borrowed with home delivery have extended loan periods.
What do I need to qualify?
Home delivery patrons must:
- currently live in Foster, RI
- have an Ocean State Library card in good standing (if you do not have a library card yet, we can set up an account over the phone)
- either have someone available to receive the materials, or a safe covered place to leave materials
